This conversational Lushootseed course is eight weeks long, and will take place on Monday and Thursday evening from 7-8pm.

The course book is dəxʷtulalikʷ ʔə ti dxʷləšucid: Lushootseed-1, which cover’s Lesson’s 1-15. (You can download and print the book to the right.) Before we start this book, we will cover other units, which cover the foundations of Lushootseed. These units will hopefully make understanding some of the grammar and concepts easier. These units cover the alphabet, possessives, prefixes, asking a question, and of course, how to use the dictionary.

Lesson’s 1 through 15 cover basic conversations and sentence structure. They cover what might be said about meeting someone or going to a place. They will cover meals and foods, something we’ll all do at least once a day. We’ll talk about how the day is and where we might go as well as describing something or someone.

You may want to get the SoundCloud App and signup for a Quizlet.com account.

So, hang on and have fun as we converse in Lushootseed!
