It’s that time of year for us to gather up the youth ages 5-12 to participate in the 23rd Annual Lushootseed Language Camp. Attached are the sign up forms and flyer, please pass these on to those who you think will be interested in signing their kids up.

This year the theme is “Canoe Journey”. We will be teaching the parts of the canoe, different styles of canoes, canoe protocol, greetings and introductions, songs and stories. This will be especially beneficial for those who plan to attend the annual canoe journey.

The new website was a labor of love to help bring the dxʷləšucid into the mobile age. Hopefully, you’ll find the site easy to navigate with plenty of features and easy search capabilities, to find exactly what you are looking for now. Make sure to check out all the phrases and explore the words. We’ll be re-introducing the phrase of the week as well, and did you notice the sgʷadgʷadtəd tiʔəʔ sləx̌il, thə word of the day?

Look at the traditional teachings section to learn about elders who past on traditional stories and teachings.

New features, such as games and talking books will be added in the near future.
